Otherwise, the bamboo’s rhizomes will wander into your yard, and soon you’ll look to import a panda to control the growth. Unless you keep bamboo in check by careful pruning of the roots or by an impermeable barrier, the hardy grass will colonize and dominate surrounding areas.
